Responsibilities
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations in all aspects of medical records management.
• Manage and process both physical and electronic medical records.
• Handle incoming and outgoing medical records requests in a timely manner.
• Communicate with physicians and healthcare providers to share patient progress notes and medical information.
• Template and organize physician’s progress notes for consistency and accuracy.
• Review and update physician schedules and follow up on records requests.
• Maintain efficient and organized record-keeping systems for patient documentation.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Proficient in medical terminology to ensure proper understanding and usage in documentation and communication.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite to perform administrative tasks and manage documentation.
• Proficient in organizing clinical information in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system for accurate and easy access.
• Ability to manage and process electronic faxes as they come into the ECW fax server.
• Strong understanding of the difference between an Insurance Referral and a provider-to-provider referral.
• Effective problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Versatile and adaptable with the ability to multi-task and complete tasks as required by the manager.
• Ability to exhibit objectivity and openness to others’ views, contributing to a positive work environment.
• Ability to meet productivity standards while demonstrating accuracy and thoroughness in work.
