Virtual Nurse

Responsibilities

Provides education and clinical guidance to members enrolled in the Baby & Me program in a professional and welcoming manner that encourages members to actively communicate with the Wellness Programs Nurse and continuously participate in the program.

  • Performs initial calls to members to:
    • Ensure the member has received the information regarding the program and incentives.
    • Verify the member’s estimated delivery date
    • Inform the member of the weekly emails that provide information on pregnancy and highlight pertinent topics according to gestational age.
    • Inform the member that HMAA covers breast pumps, and information on ordering a breast pump will be included in the week 27 email.
    • o Performs monthly calls to members to:
    • Ask about the member’s last doctor’s appointment and if there have been any changes in their pregnancy status. Ask specific questions during certain weeks of pregnancy
    • Refer high risk members to the Events and Wellness Promotions Manager to enroll the member with American Health Holdings for high risk case management at any time during pregnancy.
  • Schedules a call with the member after the estimated delivery date or requests for the member to contact the Wellness Programs Nurse to confirm their delivery. Notify the Director of Wellness and Credentialing to handle the Target gift card incentive.
  • Provides the member with information about enrolling baby in HMAA plan.
  • Performs a follow up call to members after delivery to:
    • Discuss newborn baby’s date of birth and well being of the member and baby
    • Inform the member that the Director of Wellness and Credentialing will be in contact regarding the Target gift card incentive, if applicable
    • Remind the member about the 30 day policy to enroll baby in HMAA’s plan
    • Thank the member for participating in the Maternity & Baby Care Incentive Program
    • Assists members with understanding their positive results on their colon cancer screening test and encourage members to coordinate a visit with their primary care doctor or specialist to schedule a colonoscopy as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to navigate and utilize essential functions in Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and data management.
  • Proven capability to analyze complex medical information.
  • Outstanding customer service skills for effective virtual patient interactions.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage virtual healthcare tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to solve problems promptly and efficiently.
  • Effective time management skills for handling virtual nursing responsibilities.
  • Clear and coherent verbal and written communication skills for accurate information exchange.
  • Knowledgeable in comprehending and interpreting medical guidelines and journals to inform decision making in virtual healthcare settings.
  • Proficient in accurate calculations and conversions of medical units, including laboratory values and drug dosages.
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in virtual nursing tasks.
  • Consistent track record of meeting deadlines in a virtual healthcare environment.

Screening Criteria

  • MUST HAVE STABLE EMPLOYMENT HISTORY.
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse or Advanced Practiced Registered Nurse
  • At least three (3) years of experience in maternity case management
  • Must have a stable employment history.
