Tier 1 Service Desk Specialist

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage, and maintain user accounts, groups, and organizational units in Active Directory.
  • Configure, monitor, and maintain Windows Server systems.
  • Manage file services, print services, and other server roles as required.
  • Remotely setup, configure, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
  • Provide technical support and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and connectivity.
  • Perform basic network troubleshooting to ensure connectivity and performance.
  • Configure and maintain network devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Administer Microsoft Office 365 services including Exchange Online and Outlook.
  • Manage user mailboxes, email policies, and security settings.
  • Configure and manage spam filtering solutions provided by Cisco or similar vendors.
  • Monitor and adjust spam filter settings to optimize effectiveness.
  • Maintain DNS records and ensure proper resolution of domain names.
  • Manage endpoint antivirus and security solutions to protect against malware and threats.
  • Monitor antivirus alerts and respond to security incidents promptly.
  • Administer security awareness training programs using KnowBe4 or similar platforms.
  • Track and report on employee participation and performance.
  • Coordinate with SharePoint vendors for user access management and basic administration tasks.
  • Troubleshoot user issues related to SharePoint access and functionality.
  • Manage company cell phone accounts and interact with Verizon or similar vendors.
  • Coordinate device provisioning, troubleshooting, and upgrades as needed.
  • Administer the VoIP phone system via web portals, ensuring user management and configuration.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to VoIP services.

Screening Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in IT administration, support, and/or troubleshooting.
  • Must have a stable employment history.
