Responsibilities
- Collaborate with colleagues to implement and utilize estimating software (QuoteSoft) to generate accurate project estimates.
- Analyze numbers produced by QuoteSoft to ensure accuracy and adjust as necessary based on project specifications and requirements.
- Receive bid requirements and timelines from Standard Sheetmetal staff.
- Coordinate with the estimating staff to complete estimate tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Review completed estimates with Standard Sheetmetal staff before submission to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Collaborate with Standard Sheetmetal staff to review actual project numbers post-completion.
- Determine if any adjustments are needed in QuoteSoft based on discrepancies between estimated and actual project costs.
- Provide oversight and guidance to the estimating staff and ensure all deadlines are met and that estimates are prepared accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare estimates, bids, and proposals for the installation, repair, and/or replacement of equipment and systems.
- Review published plans and specifications, assess existing conditions, and consult with relevant personnel to ensure accurate estimates.
- Estimate all direct and indirect “in-house” labor needs and formulate pricing using approved cost factors and processes.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts involving estimates, bids, and proposals.
- Participate in job turnover meetings and respond to requests for assistance from other company personnel involved in estimating activities.
- Stay updated on industry developments and technological changes to make recommendations for workflow improvements.
- Develop positive business relationships with vendors, clients, owners, and subcontractors.
- Provide Tier 1 support for team members, offering assistance and guidance as needed.
- Assist in training and onboarding new team members, sharing expertise and best practices to ensure a smooth transition and effective integration into the team.
- Coach team members to improve performance and achieve individual and team goals.
- Implement CNOW strategies to enhance team productivity and efficiency.
- Perform leadership functions such as team scheduling, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting open communication and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- HVAC knowledge is highly desirable.
Screening Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years as an HVAC estimator.
- At least two (2) years of leadership experience.
- Must have a stable employment history
