Job Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing key accounting functions within the organization, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the month-end and year-end close processes, reviewing accruals, reconciling accounts receivable (AR), and acting as a market owner by preparing and presenting insightful financial trend analyses to stakeholders.
Job Description
• Review and ensure the accuracy of accruals and related accounting entries, ensuring alignment with accounting policies and accuracy in financial statements.
• Take full responsibility for reconciling AR balances for assigned market(s), identifying discrepancies, and working proactively to resolve them in a timely manner.
• Act as the market owner by preparing comprehensive trend analyses, providing actionable insights to internal stakeholders, and presenting key financial data in a clear and understandable manner.
• Contribute to the successful completion of the month-end and year-end close processes by ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded, reviewed, and reported on schedule.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulations, ensuring that financial practices meet internal and external audit requirements.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including the finance and operations departments, to support key business objectives and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within accounting functions, helping to streamline procedures and enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting
Required Qualifications
• Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting and AR reconciliation.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Familiarity with accounting systems and ERP software.
• Strong analytical abilities to assess complex financial data, identify discrepancies, and develop solutions.
• Clear and coherent in both written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data and insights in a compelling manner to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset, able to work effectively within a team environment and across departments.
Screening Criteria
• Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of accounting experience.
• Must have a stable employment history.
Desired Qualifications
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification is preferred.
