Job Summary
The Security Systems Designer is responsible for creating cutting-edge security and surveillance system designs. This role requires a skilled individual with a strong background in security system design, a deep understanding of electrical and building codes in Florida, and the ability to collaborate effectively with sales and technical teams to deliver innovative, reliable solutions.

Job Description

• Review and analyze electrical plans and intake information provided by the sales department to create comprehensive security and surveillance system designs.
• Design systems utilizing equipment from leading manufacturers, including Digital Watchdog, Elk, Axis, 2N, DSC, and Avigilon.
• Develop detailed wiring plans to support devices, ensuring system reliability and efficiency.
• Apply security and surveillance industry best practices to all designs, ensuring compliance with Florida electrical and building codes.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, and project teams to ensure designs meet client expectations and project requirements.
• Maintain awareness of general construction practices to integrate designs seamlessly into project environments.
• Provide technical support to stakeholders during the design, installation, and commissioning phases.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging security technologies and trends to enhance design capabilities and recommend innovative solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Proficiency with CAD or other design software tools.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Florida electrical and building codes.
• Familiarity with products and solutions from Digital Watchdog, Elk, Honeywell, Axis, 2N, DSC, and Avigilon.
• Experience with using the Microsoft Software Suite – Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, 365.
• Experience Working with various groups and supporting their design requests.
• Strong understanding of security and surveillance best practices and system integrations.
• Ability to interpret and apply electrical plans and schematics effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Clear and coherent in both written and verbal communication in English.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong Time Management, Organization, Computer Competency, Creative System Design, Solution Oriented Thinking, Self-Confidence, Product Knowledge, and Presentation Skills.

Screening Criteria
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Security Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in security and surveillance system design.
• Must have a stable employment history.

Desired Qualifications

•    Certifications such as PSP (Physical Security Professional) or NICET Level II in Low Voltage Systems are a plus.
•    D-Tools Experience Preferred.
