Responsibilities
- Collect, review, and organize all necessary documents for mortgage applications.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of documentation according to lender and regulatory guidelines.
- Utilize a Loan Origination System (LOS) to input and track application data.
- Order and verify employment, income, assets, and other necessary documentation.
- Follow up on outstanding items and ensure timely receipt of required documents.
- Communicate effectively with clients, internal teams, and third-party vendors to obtain necessary information.
- Communicate with clients to request additional documents or clarification on application details.
- Provide updates on the status of loan applications and address client inquiries professionally and promptly.
- Assist Loan Officers in preparing files for pre-approval and mortgage application meetings.
- Calculate income and review financial documents to ensure compliance with lender guidelines.
- Resolve issues and discrepancies that may arise during the processing of mortgage applications.
- Ensure all loan files meet regulatory and company standards before submission for underwriting.
- Conduct quality checks on documentation and data input to minimize errors and ensure accuracy.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of all communications and transactions related to mortgage applications.
- Prepare payment illustrations and disclosures for clients as required.
- Work collaboratively with Loan Officers, Underwriters, and other internal teams to expedite the loan approval process.
- Assist in problem-solving and provide support in resolving client and loan-related issues.
Screening Criteria
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
- At one (1) to two (2) years of experience as a Mortgage Processor or similar role in mortgage lending.
- Must have a stable employment history.
