Fund Accounting Manager

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of 3-4 resources involved in operations, settlement processes, invoice processing, and transaction monitoring.
  • Oversee the daily activities of the team, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to processes.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify development opportunities for team members.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for investment funds, including the calculation of daily, weekly, or monthly NAVs.
  • Prepare and review financial statements and reports in accordance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform reconciliations of account balances, including bank reconciliations, to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the investment team to understand and account for investment transactions, including purchases, sales, and income.
  • Calculate and monitor fund expenses, accruals, and management fees.
  • Liaise with auditors during annual audits to provide required information and support.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax returns and compliance reporting for the funds.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls and procedures to ensure the integrity of financial records.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in fund accounting.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives to improve processes and systems related to fund accounting.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to accurately track and analyze financial data, perform reconciliations, and identify discrepancies.
  • Meticulous attention to detail for maintaining accurate financial records, producing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Clear and coherent in both written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams, interact with investors and lenders, and communicate financial information to senior management.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Screening Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in fund accounting or a related field.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Must have a stable employment history.
