Responsibilities
- Monitor the status of submitted claims and follow up with insurance companies or other payers to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Thoroughly examine insurance claims to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain detailed records of all claims processed, including any communication or correspondence related to the claims.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility before processing claims.
- Submit claims electronically or by mail to insurance companies or other payers.
- Prepare and submit appeals for denied claims, providing necessary documentation and supporting information.
- Provide assistance and support to patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies regarding claims inquiries and issues.
- Complete insurance verification forms meticulously, capturing all special benefit coverage information accurately.
- Enter detailed insurance information into Open Dental, including pertinent notes in the notes box.
- Update usage information related to allowed amounts and deductibles.
- Confirm patient insurance plans with the date of verification once insurance is validated.
- Maintain patient records and ensure the precision of insurance-related data.
- Adjust allowed amounts for patients based on verified insurance information.
- Collaborate with the dental team and autonomously manage tasks for efficient completion.
- Promptly respond to and fulfill all center requests communicated via email.
- Provide comprehensive daily reports to each dental center.
Qualifications
- Clear and coherent in both oral and written, to effectively communicate with team members and patients.
- Prior experience in Dental Billing.
- Basic experience in scheduling patients’ appointments.
- Demonstrates a high level of attention to detail and understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work accurately and manage multiple work demands effectively.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
Screening Criteria
- At least one (1) year experience in dental billing.
- At least one (1) year experience in doing outbound calls.
- Must have stable job history.
