Oracle Developer – Non-APEX

The Oracle Developer is responsible for ensuring the smooth flow of data within the organization. Responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes, the ETL Developer ensures data accuracy, integrity, and availability in the data warehouse infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage ETL workflows to extract data from source systems, transform it according to business requirements, and load it into the target data warehouse.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, stakeholders, and data architects to understand data integration requirements and design optimal ETL solutions using Oracle technologies.
  • Perform data profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure data quality and integrity during the ETL process.
  • Implement data mapping, transformation logic, and business rules in ETL processes to meet business requirements effectively.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization activities, such as SQL optimization, indexing strategies, and parallel processing, to enhance ETL performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ETL processes with Fiserv products, ensuring seamless data flow and system interoperability.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot ETL jobs, identifying and resolving issues or discrepancies to maintain data accuracy and reliability.
  • Implement and enforce data security measures, including access controls, data encryption, and compliance with industry regulations, to protect sensitive information stored in the data warehouse.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including ETL specifications, data mappings, and process workflows, to facilitate understanding and maintenance of the ETL system.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends and best practices in ETL and Oracle technologies, applying relevant knowledge to enhance ETL processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Accountable for the application’s availability and performance, participating in high-priority escalation calls as needed.
  • Effectively manage multiple highly visible priorities at a time, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Technology Officer on continuously improving the product, architecture, and efficiency of supporting the application.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to understand their requirements, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with the ETL processes.
  • Optimize and tune PL/SQL code and database queries to enhance ETL performance and overall data warehouse efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with banking systems, data structures, and regulatory requirements pertinent to ETL processes within the banking industry, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry standards.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software engineering with extensive experience in database programming and design using SQL and PL/SQL in Oracle 19c or newer versions.
  • Hands-on experience in developing and designing database solutions, ensuring robustness, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Proven track record of success as an Oracle ETL Programmer within the banking industry, showcasing expertise in handling ETL processes and working extensively with Fiserv products.
  • Comprehensive understanding of ETL concepts, data integration strategies, and principles of data warehousing, enabling efficient data management and processing.
  • Proficient in Oracle PL/SQL programming, adept at crafting efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading processes to meet business requirements.
  • Skilled in SQL optimization techniques to enhance query performance, ensuring optimal data retrieval and manipulation.
  • Capable of conducting thorough analysis of performance bottlenecks in Oracle database queries and batch processes, proposing viable options, and implementing performance tuning recommendations.
  • Ability to optimize database queries and code to enhance overall system performance and efficiency.
  • Proficiency in integrating REST APIs with Oracle databases through PL/SQL, facilitating seamless communication and data exchange between systems.
  • In-depth understanding of financial services data, including its structure, characteristics, and regulatory requirements, enabling effective data management and analysis within the banking domain.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude, capable of analyzing complex data integration issues and devising effective solutions to address challenges and optimize processes.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, committed to ensuring data accuracy and quality throughout the ETL processes, minimizing errors and discrepancies.
  • Clear and coherent in both written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with team members, stakeholders, and clients to foster a collaborative work environment and achieve common goals.

Screening Criteria

  • MUST HAVE STABLE EMPLOYMENT HISTORY.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an Oracle ETL Programmer in the banking industry.
