Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting financial data to inform strategic decision-making and drive business growth. This role will also collaborate with various departments to provide insights, identify trends, and optimize financial processes

Responsibilities

  • Perform statistical modeling on existing data sets to identify patterns and trends.
  • Prepare reports, analyzes past and current financial performance data, create financial models, and interpret results to identify significant differences and trends in data to inform decisions.
  • Collect, query, and analyze data using standard statistical tools, applications, methods, and techniques.
  • Improve financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending improvements to management.
  • Reconcile transactions by comparing and correcting data.
  • Maintain databases by entering, verifying, and backing up data.
  • Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses.
  • Work directly with VP of Finance on various planning exercises, such as forecasting, profitability analysis, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain confidential, protected databases to monitor business performance, and provide managers with insights into risks and opportunities.
  • Create department metrics, KPIs and any other analytics to assist with business improvements.
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing results as needed.
  • Any ad-hoc requests that arise.

Qualifications

  • In-depth understanding of business finance and analytics principles, with demonstrated experience in applying analytical techniques to financial data.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis processes and packages to effectively analyze financial data sets and derive meaningful insights.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Effective problem-solving abilities for managing complex financial data and delivering actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel for conducting financial analysis and creating complex financial models.
  • Skilled in using computer applications relevant to financial analysis, conducting data searches, and evaluating and translating large data sets.
  • Clear and coherent in both written and verbal communication and presentation skills for conveying financial concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to maintain high standards of accuracy to ensure data integrity and reliability.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, demonstrating strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Solid business professionalism, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic with commitment to excellence and a willingness to contribute to team success.

Screening Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, data science, computer science, data analytics, statistics, mathematics or related field.
  • At least three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Data or Financial Analyst
  • Must have stable employment history
